Blood donation gives life to others
The NSS division of St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology in association with the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ongole organised a blood donation camp on the college premises on Thursday.
Chirala: The NSS division of St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology in association with the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ongole organised a blood donation camp on the college premises on Thursday.
According to a press release by the college correspondent S Lakshmana Rao, the college principal, Dr P Ravi Kumar, inaugurated the camp. Speaking on the occasion, the principal said that the donation of blood was equal to donation of life to a person.
Dr K Suneetha, officer of blood bank in RIMS, Ongole appreciated the students for coming forward to donate blood and said that the blood donated by them would be used to save lives in emergency.
Dr SK Azad, blood bank officer in the Chirala Area Hospital conducted the blood group tests on the students and received blood from 200 students at the camp.
The programme officer of NSS in the college, M Pavan, blood bank staff from the RIMS Ongole and Area Hospital in Chirala also participated in the blood donation camp.
