Addressing a meeting of the RTC officials in the region here, he said that the region was in the forefront in the state to reduce losses.
He said that while APSRTC is unable to recover the expenditure of Rs 36 per km, with only Rs 26 per km as returns.
“There is a need to increase seat-occupancy ratio in the RTC buses. It is the festival season and the RTC needs to focus on reducing losses,” he said. Urging the officials to create awareness on RTC schemes, he said that Guntur has passenger safety as its topmost priority.
