Leaders offer prayers and greet people on Christmas

Ongole: Christians across Prakasam district celebrated the birthday of Jesus Christ with great gaiety and fervour. The churches witnessed families participating in the midnight special prayers along with children.

MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao released a special postal cover to mark 150 years of the service by the Jewett Memorial Baptist Church.

Christmas fun filled the air at 150-year-old Jewett Memorial Baptist Church.MLC Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy participated in the Sunday night special prayers at JMB Church and wished all a peaceful future ahead.

Ongole MLA and District TDP president Janardhana Rao and Yerragondapalem MLA Palaparti David Raju participated in the prayers on Monday morning along with thousands of devotees. After the mass, Janardhana Rao released the special postal cover in the name of JMB Church to mark the service by it for one-and-a-half century.

The MLAs wished all that beautiful and prosperous days in the future. They said that everyone should take the path of Jesus and contribute some or more from their hard-earned money for the welfare and happiness of fellow human beings and society.

The 140-year-old Ramayapatnam Baptist Church featured in tasteful decoration. The JDBM Baptist Church in Kandukur welcomed the people for prayers with carols. The pastors delivered the message of god and asked the members of churches to share the joy with the poor and encouraged them to lend a helping hand for the oppressed and destitute.
