Religious fervour marks Christmas

Christmas was celebrated with religious fervour here on Monday. All the churches were decorated colourfully and illuminated. Prayers were offered in all the churches from Sunday midnight and all the churches were flooded with Christians.

Serpentine queues were seen at churches in the city, mainly at the churches located in Subramanya Mydanam, Danavaipeta, Lakshmivarapupeta, Alcot Gardens and Y Junction since early in the morning.
Various programmes were arranged in this regard. Leaders of various political parties participated in Christmas celebrations and greeted them.
