Check open defecation, civic chief directs officials
The Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner, Challa Anuradha directed the public health department officials to check on open defecation in the Pottur, Nadupet, and Budampadu in the city.
Guntur: The Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner, Challa Anuradha directed the public health department officials to check on open defecation in the Pottur, Nadupet, and Budampadu in the city.
She visited these villages along with officials to inspect development works and sanitation. During her inspection, she found that people were using open areas for defecation.
She instructed the officials to create awareness among people and help them construct toilets. If they constructed toilets, motivate them to use toilets, she added.
She inspected the quality of the toilets constructed in Pottur and asked them to bring the new toilets into use.
She expressed ire on the public health department officials for piling up garbage in the dustbins in Budampadu and instructed the officials to clear garbage immediately. The GMC officials accompanied her.
