Ongole: The Prakasam district police personnel welcomed the New Year with the orphaned and differently-abled children in Ongole, Chirala and other places.

The SP, Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu asked his staff to celebrate New Year with the destitute and underprivileged and support them. As per the call, the Ongole sub-division police personnel celebrated the New Year at the Government School for Deaf in Ongole.

DSP B Srinivasa Rao cut the cake with a student as his subordinates distributed fruits, biscuits and pens to the children in the residential school.

Similarly, Chirala DSP Prem Kajal celebrated the New Year with the police staff in the division at the Kotaiah Old Age Home and Orphanage in Dandubata in Chirala. The police officers cut cake with the children and distributed desserts to the people in the orphanage.

The SP, Satya Yesubabu formally met the Collector, V Vinay Chand to offer New Year wishes following which they both went to Minister Siddha Raghava Rao’s place and offered greetings.
