Pulse Polio programme for entire city today, tomorrow
Commissioner Vijayarama Raju has said they made extensive arrangements for the Pulse Polio programme here on Sunday.
Rajamahendravaram: Commissioner Vijayarama Raju has said they made extensive arrangements for the Pulse Polio programme here on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, he said that the Pulse Polio programme would be organised for three days here till January 30. He ordered the staff that they should render their services with responsibility and care. The Commissioner said that they identified 34,000 children in all the 50 divisions in the city for administration of the vaccine.
“About 141 Pulse Polio centres are established during this phase. Five mobile teams and 10 transit teams are also established to administer polio drops to children,” he added. The mobile teams would cover the city and administer the polio vaccine to all children during these three days. The Commissioner informed that 15 doctors had been recruited as route officers and they would constantly monitor the situation in the city.
Giving other details of the programme, he said that 60 persons from medical and health department, 80 Asha workers, 130 Anganwadi workers and 350 nursing students were deployed for this phase of Pulse Polio programme. MHO Dr Murthy, Additional DMHO Komali, DSO B Vijaya Lakshmi and others participated.
