DLN Murthi Award presented to Rama Reddy
Eminent psychiatrist Karri Rama Reddy was honoured with the prestigious ‘Dr DLN Murthi Rao Oration Award.’ The Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) has presented the award to Dr Rama Reddy during its 70th annual conference held in Ranchi on Monday for the year 2017.
Rajamahendravaram: Eminent psychiatrist Karri Rama Reddy was honoured with the prestigious ‘Dr DLN Murthi Rao Oration Award.’ The Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) has presented the award to Dr Rama Reddy during its 70th annual conference held in Ranchi on Monday for the year 2017.
For the first time, a psychiatrist from Andhra Pradesh got the award, after 70 years. The award was given to Dr Karri Rama Reddy basing on parameters such as contribution to service and development of psychiatry in India, contribution to IPS, contribution to teaching, training and research in psychiatry and overall seniority in psychiatry, recognition and standing amongst fellow psychiatrists in India.
Dr Reddy delivered oration on Tuesday on the topic 'Individual rights versus societal protection- An interface between law and psychiatry. About 1,900 psychiatrists across the country participated in the programme.
