Assembly panel orders facilities at hostels
Chairman of Assembly Committee on Welfare of SCs Tenali Sravan Kumar and his team inspected various social welfare hostels in Ongole town and ordered the officials to provide facilities in them.

The committee inspected the boys’ hostels at the Mamidipalem and Anjaiah Road and interacted with the students. The chairman ordered the officials to provide a shed for the children to study, a store room to keep the commodities, improve bathrooms etc. He ordered the DD, Social Welfare officer to shift few of the students to rented building as the existing hostel was congested with 250 students.
Sravan Kumar told the students that they would recommend the government to increase the mess charges and increase the quality of rice in the mess. Later, the team inspected the girls hostel at the Damacharla Sakkubayamma Degree College and interacted with them.
The chairman asked the girls to have confidence in them. They said that the communication skills, lifestyle and good habits would make a person great. He said that Ambedkar was the greatest person in the intellectuals in the world. Committee members P Narayana Murthy and T Jayaramulu asked the girls to study well and get settled in life by bringing good name to the parents and teachers.
