Women’s Sports Meet-2018 begins
The three-day-long Women’s Sports Meet-2018 began at the District Sports Authority stadium here on Thursday, to mark International Women’s Day.
Kakinada: The three-day-long Women’s Sports Meet-2018 began at the District Sports Authority stadium here on Thursday, to mark International Women’s Day.
District Collector Kartikeya Mishra participated as chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, Mishra said that they were going to conduct a winter sports meet exclusively for women in October. He assured them that the administration would provide a good sports stadium for women before the winter sports meet begins. Everybody should give due respect to women as they work for the welfare of the family. He informed that his mother worked as a Group-1 officer in a municipality and strived hard to bring them up in a right way.
Kakinada Mayor Pavani, Veeravaram village Sarpanch Thota Vani also spoke in the meeting. The District Women’s Wing president M Rajeswari said that the Collector had sanctioned them a special casual leave for two days and urged the women to participate in the sports meet.
I and PR DD M Francis, Employment Officer Vasantha Lakshmi, AP NGO district president Aseervadam and others participated. Prior to this, the Collector and Mayor Pavani waved the sports flag and released the balloons into the air.
