Kakinada: Seeking the reinstatement of the expelled gas workers, the East Godavari District Gas Delivery Workers Union staged a dharna at the Collectorate here on Monday.
They raised slogans against the Sri Gas Agency for their illegal removal of the gas delivery workers.

Speaking on this occasion, they informed that the agency expelled 14 gas delivery workers onFebruary 3 this year. They alleged that the agency was not following any rule of law in their firm. They informed that they met the district Joint Collector to issue directives to restore the expelled employees on February 7, 9 and 12.

They further informed that the management of the gas agency took only four employees among the 14 expelled.

They demanded that the gas agency reinstate the remaining 10 employees as all the expelled employees were in deep financial crisis with their families. They also said that they again met the JC, Mallikarjuna on this issue on February 16, 19 and again on March 5.

They alleged that the JC admonished them to abolish the union. They further urged that the agency to shun its ‘adamant attitude’ towards the gas delivery workers. The expelled gas delivery workers, IFTU, AITUC and CITU activists
participated.
