satya sai babaUnion Minister of State for Information Technology and Communications Killi Kripa Rani has said a commemorative postage stamp will be released in honour of Puttaparthi Satya Sai Baba, on the occasion of his birth anniversary this year. He was born on November 23, 1926. Prashanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthy in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, she said, was put on the international tourist map as one of the important pilgrim destinations of the country by Satya Sai Baba.

She said, "We pay homage to Satya Sai Baba by way of issuing a stamp on him. Millions of his followers, disciples and the people of Andhra Pradesh would be delighted to know the issuance of stamp in honour of Satya Sai Baba."

Dr Kripa Rani took the initiative in directing the Department of Posts to release the commemorative postage stamp on Satya Sai Baba, keeping in view his noble services to humanity and particularly for the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Satya Sai Baba was an inspiration to the people belonging to all faiths. As a preacher of the highest human values, Baba was an iconic figure for over five decades, who inspired millions to lead a moral and meaningful life even as they followed the religion of their choice, the Union Minister said.
