Anantapuramu: At least 7,000 employees of the electricity department of Anantapuramu district went on a 72-hour strike from the midnight of Wednesday. The mobiles of these employees went silent as they submitted their official SIM cards to Transco Superintending Engineer Ramana Murthy. The employees said they will not attend to any problems related to power supply during the three days

In Puttaparthi, JAC leaders washed the clothes on the roads and ironed them on Thursday to protest against the formation of a separate Telangana state. The Viswabrahmins along with their families held a half-naked rally in Bukkapatnam mandal head quarters and cooked food on the road.
Meanwhile, rallies and protests by people from all walks of life are continuing in the district. The relay hunger strike of JACTO, employees, teachers JAC leaders are continuing. Demanding to keep the State united, RTC workers held a massive rally in Anantapuramu town from bus stand to Saptagiri Circle. Later, they formed a human chain there and raised slogans in support of Samaikyandhra.
