Anantapuramu: Medical JAC members staged a novel protest here on Tuesday. They demanded the Central government to reconsider its decision on the bifurcation of the State. Medical staff enacted a play in which actors wearing masks of Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, KCR, Prof. Kodandaram and Sailajanath were shown as infected with Telangana virus, the doctors then administered antidote Samaikya virus. Mock-electric shock was given to the actors to make them chant Jai Samaikyandhra slogans.
Earlier, health staff took out a large rally in the town. The rally started at Government Hospital and passed through Telugu Talli statue, Saptagiri Circle and ended at Tower Clock centre. They alleged that the two Ministers representing the district failed to upgrade the existing 300 bed hospital in the district headquarters to 500 bed capacity.
They demanded the Central government to keep the first linguistic state in the country united. Patients faced severe problems as both the government and private hospitals were closed. Hindupur: Government and private hospitals in the town were closed. Health staff organised a large rally in the town. Medical shops owners voluntarily observed bandh.
