Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday laid foundations stones for mega projects including new flyovers and widening of roads in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. Reddy held Bhoomi Pooja for widening of road from Botanical Garden to Old Bombay Highway via Masjeed Banda village at the cost of Rs 35 crore. The road will form a major link between Hi-Tech and Old Bombay Road which would ease traffic on Kondapur main road. He laid foundation stone for a flyover at Tolichowki. It would ease the congestion at Tolichowki junction and will reduce the travel time from Mehdipatnam to Gachibowli and Hitch- City and vice versa.

The construction works will be completed in 18 months. Before winding up his day tour in the city in the evening, the Chief Minister participated in ground breaking function for the improvement of Old Bombay Highway works from Tolichowki to Gachibowli and widening of road at Nandanavanam. The proposed road is from Puranapul to Moghal Ka Nala connecting inner ring road and will form a major link road from Old City through Jiyaguda and Karwan to RGIA Airport at Shamshabad. State Labour Minister D Nagendar, GHMC Major Mohd Majeed Hussain, Commissioner MT Krishna Babu, local MLAs and officials were also present.
