Vijayawada: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah fell sick during his visit to the city on Tuesday. Rosaiah arrived here from Chennai and inaugurated a furniture showroom in Governorpet area.

During the inauguration, he felt suffocation but proceeded with the programme. Later, he went to attend the Krishna District Arya Vysya Sangham meeting on the outskirts of the city. Even as the meeting was in progress, he fell sick due to high blood pressure and reported same to his security personnel who alerted the doctors.

They immediately rushed him to the Ramesh Cardiac Hospital in the city where chief cardiologist Dr P Ramesh Babu and his staff attended on him. Meanwhile the Tamil Nadu government arranged a special flight to shift Rosaiah to Chennai. While leaving the hospital here, Rosaiah told media persons that he had suffered mild tension due to stress and it was corrected at the hospital.

On learning about Rosaiah's illness, Ministers Vatti Vasantha Kumar and K P Saradhi, legislators Malladi Vishnu and Vellampalli Srinivas, joint collector, P Usha Kumari, city police commissioner N Madhusudhan Reddy, additional joint collector N Ramesh Kumar, Eluru former legislator, Ambica Krishna and the leaders of the Arya Vysya Sangham visited the hospital and met Rosaiah.
