Reiterating that Hyderabad is an integral part of Telangana, the Telangana JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram on Monday sounded a warning to the Centre against any attempt to alter the status of Hyderabad after the bifurcation of State.Participating in a dharna organised by Telangana Electricity Employees (TEE) JAC at Vidyut Soudha here, he said Seemandhra region had many alternative places -- Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Nellore and Tirupathi to develop a capital city after the State is divided. If Hyderabad was taken away, there would be no place to establish a State capital in Telangana State, he added.

Alleging that Seemandhra leaders were provoking people for their vested interests, he said every Indian citizen has the right to stay in Hyderabad peacefully and perform their duties and business similar to people from Gujarat and Rajasthan states who settled here. The issue of safety of Seemandhra region people in Telangana was being raised by parties for political gains only, he added.

Coming down heavily on government for deploying paramilitary forces at dharna site, TRS MLC K Swamy Goud said the Seemandhra employees need not to worry as they will have to avail any one option. He criticised the Seemandhra leaders, who are taking claims for development of Hyderabad. People migrated to major cities to do their business but not to develop the city. He questioned the Seemandhra businessmen as to why they did not establish their business in their region.

Electricity employee JAC President Ch Raghu said that the employees will stage protest with black flags daily during the lunch hour from Tuesday protesting against the misleading facts presented by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in his recent press conference. Demanding the CM to tender an apology for projecting wrong figures on power sector, Raghu said TEE JAC will also meet Congress high command and submit the facts with regard to power sector development in Telangana.

Stating that many power projects were in the pipeline in Telangana, he said by 2017 the Telangana State would achieve surplus in power generation. Irrigation expert R Vidyasagar Rao, Telangana employees’ union leader K Vittal and Telangana Mala Mahanadu president A Dayakar and others were also present.
