In a bizarre incident residents of a Dalith colony here imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on a person whorepeatedly raped a minor girl and made her pregnant recently, according to delayed reports reaching the district headquarters.
The victim, a 13-year-old girl, was left behind in the care of colony leader by her parents before leaving for Hyderabad to eke out a living.
A close relative of the group leader, Raju, befriended the minor girl and repeatedly raped her with the help of his wife.
The parents after returning to the village found some physical changes in their daughter and took her to a private hospital at Makhtal where the doctors confirmed that she was four months pregnant.
The colony elders organised meeting on Thursday and imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the accused, holding his wife responsible for the ghastly act.
The accused is absconding, the villagers said.
