  • To discuss issues arising out of bifurcation of the State and prepare a report to be submitted to GoM

With the deadline for submitting report to the Group of Ministers (GoM) fast approaching, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday convened a meeting of party members from Seemandhra region at his camp office. The proposed meeting would discuss the proposals on the issues that could arise out of bifurcation of the State, to be presented before the GoM.

According to a senior minister, Kiran felt that if a joint meeting was convened, the Telangana ministers might not attend the meeting as the divide between the two groups was complete. Hence he has left the job of consulting Telangana ministers on the issue to PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana. Botcha would meet T ministers at Gandhi Bhavan and would also participate in the meeting of Seemandhra leaders. Kiran, the sources said, felt that the Telangana ministers would feel more comfortable to have a meeting with Botcha since he had been in favour of division of the State.

It may be mentioned here that Telangana ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister D Rajanarasimha and Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy have been criticising Kiran for his pro-united state stance.

Sources indicate that the meeting with Seemandhra ministers and Congress leaders was likely to witness fireworks between the ministers like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kondru Murali Mohan and P Balaraju, who are willing to fall in line with the high command, and Kiran loyalists who include S Sailajanath, Ganta Srinivasa Rao etc.
