Pranab to participate in passing-out parade of IPS trainees in city
President Pranab Mukherjee would arrive in the city on Monday to participate in the passing-out parade of IPS trainees at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (NPA) the next day.
Official sources said Mukherjee would arrive at the Begumpet airport at 7.45 pm and drive to Raj Bhavan for night halt.
On Tuesday morning, he would proceed to NPA to review the passing out parade of IPS probationers. After addressing the newly inducted IPS officers, he would fly back to New Delhi in the afternoon.
In the back drop of the widespread protests against the bifurcation of state in Seemandhra region, Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is expected to meet the President during his stay in the city. Sources said that Kiran Reddy would apprise Mukherjee of the situation prevailing in the state after the union cabinet approved the moves for division of the state.
As part of the President's official schedule, a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) delegation led by the party's president YS Jaganmohan Reddy would meet the Presidentat 9 pm on Monday and submit a memorandum urging him to instruct the Centre to rollback the state bifurcation and provide sufficient relief to the affected farmers in the recent heavy rains ravaged the state.
Earlier, TDP Seemandhra leaders led by Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy and Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy will meet the President. They got appointment to meet him at 8.30 pm.
