Warangal: The proposal of creating Rayala Telangana is a conspiracy being hatched by Seemandhra leaders and Congress party, alleged Telangana Rashtra Samithi senior leader B Vinod Kumar.
He said there was no demand from the people either in Rayalaseema or Telangana for the creation of Rayala Telangana but the idea has been endorsed only to thwart the formation of Telangana. Hence, the Congress leaders of Telangana region should come out opposing Rayala Telangana proposal, he suggested.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Vinod Kumar appealed the Telangana Congress leaders to prevail over the party leadership seeking it to give up the idea of Rayala Telangana. They should go to New Delhi and exert pressure on the party leadership to reject the proposal. He appealed the Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi not to fall in the trap of Seemandhra leaders.
The decision taken by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to create Telangana with its existing 10 districts with Hyderabad as capital has to be implemented. “If the Congress accepts the Rayala Telangana proposal it would make Rayalaseema to lose its identity and it was not proper. Moreover, there was no homogeneity between the people of Telangana and Rayalaseema as their cultures were different.
Therefore, they could live together for long,” he pointed out. In addition to that, the new proposal would take Srisailam project with it and that would in turn lead to protests in Seemandhra. The Telangana Congress leaders have to take the responsibility if there was any delay in the creation of Telangana.
The Seemandhra Congress leaders were trying to influence the party high command to defer the final decision on creation of Telangana till 2014 general elections were over, Vinod Kumar pointed out. “We have information with us in this connection” he added. Reacting on the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict on Krishna waters issue, he said the leadership has to go through the copy of tribunal order yet.
TRS district in-charge P Sudharshan Reddy, MLA M Bikshapathi, leaders K Rajaiah Yadav, G Ravi Kumar, Mohammed Nayeemuddin and others were present.
