Hyderabad: Samaikya Rastra Parirakshana Vedika (SRPV), the body which was formed to oppose the separate statehood to Telangana, will take up its second round of agitations from December 5. By mobilising lakhs of people, it will organise ‘Chalo Assembly’ the moment T Bill reaches the Assembly for its opinion.
Briefing mediapersons after the steering committee meeting of SRPV, APNGOs president P Ashok Babu revealed the schedule for December. As part of its agitation programme, it will hold a public meeting in Guntur on December 7, which will give clear direction to the new phase of agitations. December 9, 2009, the day on which the first announcement on bifurcation was made, is declared as the ‘Telugu Jati Vidroha Dinam’ by the SRPV. The Association president reiterated that Union Minister for Tourism K Chiranjeevi does not have the right to seek resignation from government employees.

“He himself is not an elected member of Parliament, but was nominated to Rajya Sabha. He does not have people’s mandate from the constituency he represents,” he said. “We are ready for resignations. Are the MPs ready to do the same? We shall put in our papers even before they land in Hyderabad with this news,” quipped Ashok Babu.
After meeting Congress, TDP, CPI, CPM leaders, the APNGOs will be meeting YSRCP, MIM and BJP. After catching the pulse of all these political parties, the APNGOs leaders will decide the date for meeting. It is likely that the leaders will also meet the TRS leaders. “We shall also meet TRS leadership, as everyone has the right to express his opinion over the issue,” he said.
During the meeting, SRPV decided to mobilise people against the T Bill.
He believed that even though there would be several obstructions coming before the T Bill and there was no clarity on specifics it contains, the APNGOs will begin its agitation once again even as Parliament is in session. He said bifurcation of any kind was not acceptable, even if it was Telangana or Rayala Telangana. “Bifurcation of any kind will not help people of this State,” he said.
