Hyderabad: Minister for Tribal Welfare P Balaraju said that the fourth nodal agency meeting of Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) has decided to take up economic support programmes in areas of primitive tribal groups (PTG). Addressing media persons on Monday, Balaraju said that the meeting planned to spend Rs 204 crore under the various economic support schemes in PTG areas.
“It is planned to get the proposals from tribal hamlets by conducting Gram Sabhas for implementing developmental works,” he said, adding that the TSP meeting resolved to appoint a state-level nodal officers to execute works approved by the nodal agency. Referring to other works cleared by the meeting, he said that it had approved 843 works worth of Rs 1133 crore.
On tribal day scholars, he said that day scholars studying from fifth to eighth grades would get incentive scholarship where girls would be given Rs 150 per month and boys Rs 100.
