MLA secures help for fire mishap victims from CM Relief Fund

Hyderabad: L B Nagar MLA Devireddy Sudhir Reddy said that his aim was to provide emergency medical aid to those in distress. Narrating an accident that took place recently to the press persons on Saturday, the MLA said that in the Bandlaguda village in Mansurabad division, Gumpu Kullayappa’s family was involved in an accident during the Deepavali festival last month when a huge explosion occurred in their house.

In the freak fire mishap, Kullayappa, his wife and son who were fast asleep suffered serious burn injuries. They were immediately rushed to the hospital . However, Kullayappa succumbed to burn injures the next day. As the family was not financially sound, the hospital authorities refused to treat them and decided to get his wife and son discharged.

On coming to know of the incident The MLA immediately took up the matter with the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and persuaded him and was able to successfully convince him to release Rs 5.21 lakh for the medical expenses. The MLA handed over the amount to Kullayappa’s second son.

The MLA said that it gives him immense joy in coming to the rescue of the poor and the downtrodden who were unable to pay for their medical expenses. He wished the mother and son a speedy recovery.
