Hyderabad: With the T Bill expected to be sent to the State Assembly on Thursday, paving way for the winter session of the Assembly to take it up for debate, the winter session promises to be a stormy one. The in-camera business advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, held at the Assembly on Wednesday, witnessed verbal exchanges between the TDP and the YSR Congress leaders.
TDP senior leader and MLA E Dayakar Rao strongly opposed the YSR Congress demand to adopt a resolution in support of united Andhra. Sources said that the YSRCP Honorary President Y S Vijayamma raised the state bifurcation issue and wanted to know whether the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 would come up for discussion in the session.

When the ministers, who attended the BAC, said they were not aware of the Bill, she demanded that the House adopt a resolution in favour of united Andhra Pradesh to prevent the Centre from bifurcating the State. TDP deputy floor leader G Muddukrishnamma Naidu also supported the demand of YSRCP. Reacting to this, TDP senior leader Dayakar Rao pointed out that it was the former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy who had got a resolution adopted in support of Telangana in the Assembly before 2009 election and also sent a letter to party high command, seeking the division of State in 2000.
Countering Dayakar’s argument, the deputy floor leader of YSRCP, Shobha Nagi Reddy, said that Centre had taken the decision to carve out Telangana because of the letter submitted by TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu to the Union government. Council finalises agenda The BAC of the State Legislative Council has finalised the agenda for the winter session of the council for a period of five days beginning on Thursday.
The BAC meeting presided over by the Council Chairman A Chakrapani also discussed the issues to be debated in the house in the ensuing session. Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict on Krishna waters, skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and plight of State-bound workers in Gulf countries were among the other important issues that had been shortlisted for discussions. It also decided to extend the session if the Telangana Bill was referred to the council in the ongoing session.
