Jangon: The Minister for Information Technology and Communications in AndhraPradesh state cabinet, Ponnala Laxmaiah won the case in state high court, which was filed by Kommuri Pratap Reddy against the minister’s alleged victory in 2009 General Elections.

Kommuri Pratap Reddy, the opponent of Ponnala in the 2009 general elections saw a hidden conspiracy behind the Ponnala’s last minute victory and filed a case stating that extent. On Wednesday, the high court of Andhra Pradesh gave its verdict in favor of Ponnala.

It is evident that in the 2009 general elections, Ponnala retained the Jangon seat with bare minimum majority of 256 votes.

Suspecting the adaption of some illegal means for Ponnala’s victory, Kommineni approached the high court of Andhra Pradesh, seeking justice.

He claimed the postal ballets were taken into account at the last minute, instead of counting in the beginning. Simultaneously, Kommineni filed a case in the apex court also. The same was rejected by the Supreme Court as the proceedings were still ongoing in the state high court. With the verdict given by the high court of Andhra Pradesh, the supporters of Ponnala celebrated the victory.
