Hyderabad: Placing the onus on TDP and Congress MLAs from Telangana to ensure that the discussion over the T Bill takes place, TRS MLA T Harish Rao asked them to exert pressure on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking at the Media Point in Assembly, he said that the Telugu Desam MLAs from Telangana, who expressed happiness over the T-Bill, should talk to their leader and see that the legislators from Seemandhra region cooperate in the discussion.
He also expressed his displeasure over the manner in which Chief Minister’s office was sending leaks indicating that they would delay the process of bifurcation. He condemned the statements of some Congress leaders that they would drag on with the debate till January 23.
He said if the members from Seemandhra region had doubts over any clause in the Bill, they should discuss it in the Assembly. He agreed that there were some issues like education, pension and some other issues that need to be clarified.
The Minister for Panchayat Raj, K Jana Reddy, said that if the leaders from Seemandhra region feel that by stalling the proceedings they can stop carving of T State, they are mistaken. All issues can be resolved through debate and discussion. They were doing great injustice to the Seemandhra region by obstructing the debate on T Bill,
