Don’t vote in favour of bifurcation: Vundava, Bifurcation Bill, Bifurcation of the State. He warned that if the Bill sent is to Parliament without voting it would set a wrong precedent for the division of any State in the country in coming days as all the other smaller States.

Rajahmundry: The MLAS representinsg all the political parties should utilise the time given to them to discuss the bifurcation Bill in the Assembly, said MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar. He urged the political parties here on Thursday not to strive to get political mileage during the discussion. He opined that the national integrity is at stake and called upon on the MLAs not to miss the opportunity to safeguard the interests of Andhra Pradesh. He warned that people would not forgive if anybody votes for a separate State.

Speaking to the media, Vundavalli said that the Assembly session will start on Friday to debate on the bifurcation of the State under Artcile 3 and added that the Bill would be tabled in Parliament after January 23 without taking the opinion of majority members in the Assembly. By stating that 175 members out of 294 members would vote against the Bill in the Assembly, he said. Commenting on the stance of BJP to support the Bill, he reminded that LK Advani had made it clear that resolution in the Assembly is must to create a new State when the demand for separate statehood of Vidharbha had emerged in the past and he questioned how the BJP could support the Bill without the Assembly resolution now.

He warned that if the Bill sent is to Parliament without voting it would set a wrong precedent for the division of any State in the country in coming days as all the other smaller States, which are seeking separate statehood, are waiting for the outcome of the Telangana Bill.
