Divesting Sridhar Babu of the legislative affairs minister portfolio, who played a key role by assisting the Speaker in running the House and conducting the debate, is seen as a deliberate attempt by Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.

The buzz in the political circles is that Kiran Reddy, who projected himself as a staunch integrationist had made several attempts to stall the Telangana process right from the time he defied Congress party president Sonia Gandhi's order to make APNGOs call off their strike. Now, Kiran Kumar Reddy's move in taking away the legislative affairs portfolio from Civil Supplies Minister D. Sridhar Babu is certainly a politically motivated move.

Though the speculation was rife that Kiran Kumar Reddy has taken this decision as he was irked by the attitude of Sridhar Babu in proroguing the Assembly session last month, many believe that why would Kiran do that just a day before Andhra Pradesh reassemble for Telangana Bill.

Political analysts feel that it is Kiran's deliberate attempt to create uproar in the Assembly and earn mileage in Seemandhra. If Kiran's attempt is not deliberate, he would not have allotted it to Primary Education Minister S. Sailajanth, who is opposing formation of a separate Telangana state.

Kiran's sudden decision of changing portfolio has triggered another round of controversy between the Telangana and Seemandhra leaders of the ruling Congress which will in turn disrupt the Assembly proceedings.

Just to get the name of creating uproar and confusion on Telangana Bill, Kiran took this decision. This type of decision may provoke Telangana people and widen the gap between Seemandhra and Telangana people.
