Medak: Local MP and firebrand Vijayashanti, who of late has been lying low, finally came out on Sunday with sensational comments against TRS leaders who, she alleged, were unable to stomach her rise in politics. Some were even awaiting her end even physically, she alleged.

Speaking at the foundation-laying function of the Akkannapet-Medak railway line, an emotionally charged ex-film actress alleged that she was isolated by the TRS leadership, despite her stellar contribution for 10 years to secure Telangana. She said that, “I have been suspended from TRS. Today I am a loner. I have none to fall back on. All that I have is the support of the people of my constituency.” She expressed anguish that there were people who did not wish to see a woman come up in politics. “There are no people with broad mind,” she said.

The MP claimed that although she had invited all to the function, irrespective of party affiliations, a conspiracy was hatched by some persons to disrupt it.

“Even conspiracies were hatched to stop the railway line work with the sole motive of denying credit to me.” She had to slog to realise the 30-year-long dream of Medak people, pleading with both Central and State governments, “seeing change of three Chief Ministers, six Railway Ministers and three SCR General Managers.”

The MP said that the government was ready to pay market rates to the people whose lands have been taken over for the project work. She said she had contributed Rs 1 crore to the project from her constituency funds.

She clarified that “there is no need for achieving fame; I have entered politics after becoming famous. Yet, efforts are being made to back-stab me.” However, she would not bow to anyone.

Vijayashanti stressed that people’s affection was paramount and that she was no more part of the ruling dispensation, but with the Opposition.

She alleged that the development of her constituency suffered in the separatist-integrationist tussle. Minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, who unveiled the project plaque along with SCR General Manager P K Srinivasan, pleaded for Sangareddy- Narsapur-Gajvel rail line. Srinivasan said the project costing Rs 129 crore would be completed in two years.
