RSS activist Umakanth passes away
RSS activist Umakanth passes away, 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swamy Vivekananda. Noted RSS activist Koride Umakanth, 69, passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness. He is survived by two sons.
Hyderabad: Noted RSS activist Koride Umakanth, 69, passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness. He is survived by two sons. His cremation would take place on Sunday.
The retired irrigation chief engineer and an activist in Telangana Movement was the chief organising secretary of 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swamy Vivekananda. He had presented a power-point presentation during an international conference in May last year on the legendary spiritual genius of exceptional intellect.
Umakanth, who worked in various capacities in RSS since 1960s, had close association with former Union Minister Ale Narendra and was also a member of the TRS briefly when Narendra was with the party. He had full knowledge of the water resources of Telangana region and had firm views on sharing of water.
