Hyderabad: TDP MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu who has been upset over not getting a ticket for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections on Tuesday sent shivers down the spine of TDP leaders as he indicated that he could no longer continue in the party and was mulling over joining the Congress party. It is learnt that Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy is mediating. This would help Congress claim that it is the only party that cares for Dalit leaders. Motkupalli can strengthen its hold in Nalgonda district.

It may be mentioned here that Narasimhlu has been sulking since Monday evening when he was denied the Rajya Sabha nomination. He had even planned to address a press conference on Tuesday morning to announce his exit from TDP. Anticipating trouble, senior party leaders and MPs N Nageswara Rao, CM Ramesh, E Dayakar Rao and Sujana Chowdary rushed to his residence and for about four hours tried to pacify him. It is learnt they assured him that the party would stand by him and he would be the prime candidate from Nalgonda district.

The leaders also reportedly told him that the party would also bear his entire poll expenditure. The party leaders later exuded confidence that Narsimhulu softened and would not leave the party.
