Hyderabad: An international conference on Agriculture and Horticultural Sciences, with a theme ‘scientific insight of Agricultural and Horticultural Research’ is set to commence at a city hotel on Monday.

Prof E A Siddiq, Honorary Director, Institute of Biotechnology, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), Hyderabad, will be the chief guest. Former state chief Secretary Dr Mohan Kanda, ANGRAU vice-chancellor Dr Alluri Padma Raju, soil scientist Dr John Ryan will take part.

Around 200 delegates from USA, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Indonesia, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Armenia, Israel, Mexico, China, Kenya, Nepal and Serbia and various parts of the country are expected to attend the conference.

The three-day conference will hold deliberations on key topics including crop breeding and genetics, spices, herbs and medicinal plants, plant biochemistry and physiology, crop protection and management, agronomy and soil sciences, tissue culture and plant biotechnology, agricultural engineering and technology, agricultural economics and agribusiness, horticulture, floriculture and forestry, sustainable practices for agriculture, agricultural risk management and agricultural extension.
