Earlier, Chandrashekhar Rao said Ajit Singh had consistently been supporting the cause of Telangana. He expressed his gratitude to Ajit Singh for his support to the cause of Telangana. In fact, Chandrashekhar Rao recalled that when Ajit Singh was Union Agriculture Minister in the previous BJP government, despite the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee asking him not to go, Ajit Singh did take part in the Warangal rally.

Ajit Singh said, “Telangana has come, as far as I am concerned. Telangana is a 60-year-old dispute. The people have been patient and now the time has come to realise their goal. I have been consistently supporting Telangana and I will continue to support Telangana,” he said.

Reacting to the speculation that the BJP may oppose the Telangana Bill, Ajit Singh said the mood of the nation was such that no one could really oppose Telangana. Chandrashekhar Rao also agreed and said there was no reason for him to feel that the BJP would oppose Telangana Bill.
