As a result, according to the report, drawing of raw water from AMRP for the Krishna drinking water supply project phases I & II would be stopped for 24 hours from 9 am on February 17 to 9 am the next day.


According to an official release issued by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), the areas covered under Krishna phase-I included areas served by reservoirs at Saheb Nagar, Santhosh Nagar, Asmangadh new & old reservoir areas, Mir Alam, Aliyabad, Chanchalguda, Yakuthpura, Vaishali Nagar, Malakpet, Moosarambagh, Narayanguda, Boggulakunta, Shivam, Adikmet and Chilkalguda.

The affected areas also include Saheb Nagar, Balapur, Mailardevpally, Rajendranagar, Hyderguda, Kishanbagh, Asifnagar, Prashashan Nagar, Madhapur, Gachibowli and parts of Lingampally. Various reservoirs covered under Krishna phase-II (Ring Main-II), including areas served by reservoirs at Marredpally like West Marredpally, Sithaphalmandi, Bhoiguda, Regimental Bazar and Tarnaka and Lalapet reservoirs and control room areas of cantonment, MES & railways, Moula Ali, Nacharam, Ellugutta, Sanikpuri, Kailashgiri and Chanakyapuri.


In their note, the Water Board has made an appeal to consumers to preserve enough water to avoid inconvenience.
