Hyderabad: Telangana statehood dream turned into a reality even though Seemandhra sections had exerted serious pressure on the Congress high command only because justice was on the side of Telangana people, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator Jupally Krishna Rao said on Friday.
He credited TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s fast-unto-death, martyrs’ sacrifices and Sonia Gandhi’s strong resolve for the formation of Telangana State. Krishna Rao and another TRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar returned to the city on Friday after camping in New Delhi for more than two weeks.
A rousing welcome was given to the TRS leaders at Shamshabad Airport after which they drove in a rally towards Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park.
Meanwhile, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, after calling off his fast, is slated to return to the city by train at 6 pm on Saturday. The party leaders are making arrangements to accord him a grand reception at Secunderabad Railway Station.
He will proceed to Gun Park to offer tributes to martyrs at 8 pm.
