TJAC to help rebuild Telangana

Hyderabad: Quelling doubts about the future of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) following attainment of the statehood goal, its chairman Prof Kodandaram on Saturday stated that it would play a pivotal role in reconstruction of Telangana.

Kodandaram and other key members of TJAC including G Deviprasad, V Srinivas Goud, C Vittal, Addanki Dayaker, Kathi Venkata swamy returned here from New Delhi, having successfully completed their mission of ensuring smooth passage of Telangana Bill in both Houses of Parliament. The leaders were given a rousing welcome at Shamshabad airport by supporters who came in large numbers.

Government employees owing allegiance to TGO, TNGO and Telangana Udyogula Sangam besides the members of Telangana Lecturers Forum made a beeline to the airport to welcome their leaders colleagues who championed the cause of the separate State movement.

Kodandaram and his team later proceeded to Gun Park near Legislative Assembly where they paid floral tributes to martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause. Addressing the gathering, he stated that the statehood aspirations of the Telangana community and thousands of martyrs were at last fulfilled. He thanked people from different walks of life who tirelessly fought for the cause. He said that TJAC had a big task on hand in rebuilding of Telangana state. The future course of programme, however, would be chalked out after consulting all stakeholders, he said. Later the TJAC leaders marched in a procession towards mint compound and then to Vidyut Soudha where they were garlanded and felicitated by electricity employees.
