New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan on Thursday called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to brief him on the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. The State was brought under President’s Rule on March 1, ahead of the simultaneous Assembly and Parliament polls, following the resignation of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

With the Appointed Day having been fixed for June 2, the Governor is understood to have briefed the PMon various matters.

Issues such as division of cadres, besides assets and liabilities between the newly-created State of Telangana and the successor State of Andhra Pradesh.

Already a panel from the Centre is working on the cadre division between the two States. The Governor’s meeting with the Prime Minister assumes significance as the Centre is all set to name two Advisers to assist him in running the administration.

AICC General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh met the Governor at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in the capital.

It is understood that in the 30-minute discussion, the issue of review of the decisions of Kiran Kumar Reddy during his last days in office figured in the meeting.
