Participants upbeat, say mesmerising experience, Bal Reddy, HMTV, 12th batch of Vakta. Giving important tips and techniques related to public speaking, he said that great leaders in the world were ‘influencers’.
Hyderabad: Enhanced communication skills would give the people a distinct edge over others in public life and make their impact felt in the society. The 12th batch of Vakta, a two-day training session on public speaking organised jointly by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on March 8 and 9, came in handy for the participants aspiring for a decisive role in the society. The programme was quite useful, they acknowledged.
Bal Reddy, Director (Training), Kapil Group and lead faculty of the programme, said that public speaking was a skill, which could only be sharpened by regular practice.
Giving important tips and techniques related to public speaking, he said that great leaders in the world were ‘influencers’.
He felt that some of these influencers had edge over others because of their oratory skills. “Most of the people around us are encyclopedias, but they fail to express their ideas to others,” he pointed out. According to him, people seldom take seriously the need for honing their skills, but there are occasions in their lives which compel them to speak out. Therefore to face such kind of situation, everyone should get themselves prepared, lest they face a failure. To explain the importance of communication skills, he said that beautifully packaged goods, which attracted attention of people was because of their ‘presentation’. Giving the example of a pencil, he noted that unless and until people are ready to take pains in improving them, they cannot sharpen themselves. And just like an eraser attached to a pencil, one should erase the mistakes in oneself to improve the public speaking skills.
HMTV and The Hans India Editor-in-Chief K Ramachandra Murthy asked the participants to implement what they have learnt during the two days in their day-to-day life.
Those who attended the previous batches gave him a positive feedback on how the skills learnt here changed their lives, he said. After interacting with the current batch, he expressed satisfaction that all the participants were able to speak clearly without a hesitation.
He hoped that there would be a change in everyone’s life after the training session. Responding to a request from one of the participants that the programme should be extended to more than two days and on ‘training future leaders’, he said the organisation consider on this. One of the participants from Rajahmundry, Sampath Kumar, hoped that everyone would create an impact on the society after going back to their places. He exalted Bal Reddy’s idea of keeping the heart pure and speaking out with sincerity.
Boddu Ravishankar Rao, a resident of Qutbullapur, said that the experiences in the two days were mesmerising in all aspects, without any sense of boredom.Dr K Nagabhushan, an aspiring politician, said that the tips acquired at the session would be helpful in his future. A Jyothi Reddy, Mandal Extension Officer, Medchal, said that after self-analysing the training topics of the first day, she was able to overcome her deficiencies by the end of the training.
K Anil Kumar of Geological Survey of India said that some of the aspects of the training session moved him. Auditor and social worker S Laxmana Chary, who drew inspiration from Swamy Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi, described K Vaman Rao, Chairman, Kapil Group, as the personality behind the success of HMTV and The Hans India.
