Hyderabad: The APSRTC has considered the demand of its employees for an interim relief of 27 per cent with effect from February last. As a result, the employees unions have withdrawn their call for strike from Wednesday. Though the Labour Commissioner had talks with the unions, he drew a blank in the mission.
The Unions decided almost on going ahead with their strike plans. But the last-minute intervention by RTC MD J Purnachandra Rao and other directors of the corporation helped break the ice. They decided in favour of hiking the interim relief as demanded by the employees unions.
With this, the officials heaved a sigh of relief as the Intermediate Public Examinations are commencing on Wednesday.
