Kodanda, Devi Prasad not to contest polls

  • Meet KCR, thank him for the offer
  • TJAC will function as a pressure group

Hyderabad: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof. Kodandaram and TNGO president G Devi Prasad on Wednesday met Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief KCR and expressed their inability to plunge into politics.

Both the leaders called on Rao at his residence in Banjara Hills in the evening and were closeted with him for around half-an-hour. Later, speaking to newsmen, Kodandaram thanked Rao for extending invitation to TJAC leaders to contest in ensuing elections.

“Owing to our earlier decision to transform the TJAC as a pressure group in rebuilding Telangana State, we politely refused the offer.”

When asked about TJAC’s stand regarding support to Mahabubnagar TRS in-charge V Srinivas Goud, Kodandaram said that they were yet to discuss about it.

Srikantha Chary’s mother threatens suicide

Meanwhile, Shankaramma, mother of Srikantha Chary, the first person to commit suicide at LB Nagar in 2009 for Telangana statehood, issued a warning to the TRS that she would give up her life if she was not given a chance to contest in the ensuing elections. She made this statement after meeting KCR at his residence. Sources informed that Rao assured her of a MLC seat but she was unwilling to accept it.
