Atmakuru: Massive fire broke out suddenly in the tiger sanctuary Tirumala Devuni Konda area in the Nallamala forest of Atmakuru division in the early hours of Wednesday mukch to the chagrin of the Forest department. According to the Forest department officials, the fire broke out in the Pasurutla section of the Bairluta forest range on the borders of Prakasam and Kurnool districts.

The Forest department has identified the movement of 12 tigers in the sanctuary and also noticed the movement of panthers and bears in the area.

Atmakuru DFO Divan Moiddin responded and sent a thirty-member team headed by a ranger to assess the situation and take suitable action. Efforts are on to bring the fire under control which started in the unapproachable deep forest.
