New Delhi: It is a desperate battle for survival in Andhra Pradesh for all major political parties. After the division, there are four major political forces. While the Congress and the TRS are the strongest in Telangana, in divided Andhra Pradesh it is an all-out war between YS Jaganmohan Reddy of the YSR Congress Party and N Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP. According to CNN-IBN-CSDS-Lokniti election tracker and seat projections by Chennai Mathematical Institute Director Rajeeva Karandikar the Congress is in for trouble in the state and likely to win just 4-8 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. The TDP has taken a slight lead over the YSR Congress Party and will emerge victorious in 13-19 while Jagan's party may bag 9-15 seats with the TRS ending up with 4-8. The state has 42 seats (Andhra Pradesh - 25 and Telangana 17).
Estimates for the entire state (undivided) give the TDP 29 per cent and the YSRCP 21 per cent votes. The Congress is expected to get 18 per cent, the TRS 13 per cent, the BJP 8 per cent, AAP 1 per cent and the others 10 per cent votes respectively.
Telangana
In Telangana region, the Congress is likely to get 35 per cent votes and the TRS is expected to get 34 per cent votes. The BJP is likely to get 10 per cent, the TDP 13 per cent and the others 8 per cent votes.
Seemandhra (Andhra Pradesh)
The TDP seems to have taken a lead over the YSRCP in AP. The YSRCP is projected to get 33 per cent votes and the TDP is likely to get 39 per cent of the votes. The Congress and the BJP are expected to get 7 per cent each and the others are likely to get 14 per cent of the votes in the Lok Sabha elections. The TDP is doing particularly well in the coastal part of Seemandhra and the YSR Congress is leading in Rayalaseema region. In coastal AP, the TDP is likely to get 43 per cent votes and the YSRCP is likely to get 29 per cent votes. In Rayalaseema region, YSRCP is expected to get 41 per cent votes and the TDP is likely to get 31 per cent votes.
TRS gets credit
In Telangana, most people are giving credit to the TRS for the creation of a new state. While 37 per cent of the respondents give credit to KCR and TRS, 21 per cent give credit to the Congress leadership in Delhi.
Most TRS voters also feel that the party's decision to not merge with the Congress was correct. Overall 27 per cent say it was correct and 50 per cent of the TRS supporters also back the decision.
The BJP voters in Telangana seem to be keener for an alliance with the TDP than the TDP voters. 59 per cent of the BJP voters support an alliance and 40 per cent of the BJP voters favour it. Dissatisfaction with the UPA government has declined in Telangana after the bifurcation of the state and it has gone up in Seemandhra.
53 per cent are satisfied with the UPA in Telangana and 65 per cent are dissatisfied in AP.
