New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Election Commission to declare the results of municipal polls after May 7. The apex court asked the Election Commission to not to show the technical reasons as the evidence for early declaration of the results.

The apex court opined that the pronouncement of poll results will adversely affect the looming general elections. The court wondered why not declaration of results of civic polls will affect the general elections once ZPTC/MPTC results would affect.
