Election rallies which are meant to woo voters with 'promises' of good governance have turned into a murky platform for leaders to take pot shots at their political opponents.
A case in point in our own state is that of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The duo won't spare any opportunity to mudsling each other.
Remember how Naidu caught the attention of his supporters and voters saying "I will change AP into Singapore if voted back to power. Should you choose Jagan, he will go to Chanchalguda jail."
On Sunday, the day YSRCP released its manifesto it was the turn of Jagan to hit back at Naidu over his personal comments. Speaking to reporters, Jagan alleged that 850 acres of land had been allotted to Naidu in the benami of IMG Bharata, without the knowledge of the Cabinet.
Jagan further dared Naidu to allow a CBI probe into IMG Bharata and Emaar case. Jagan alleged that even though the AP High Court had ordered a CBI probe into the IMG land allotment case, the CBI had failed to heed HC's instructions citing lack of manpower to conduct an inquiry. "Thus, it never happened, Naidu is good at managing media and other agencies, but I am not!" asserted the Kadapa MP.
