Cherlapally Jail: DGP Carries Out Surprise Check. Late on Friday night, the Director General of Police for Jails carried out a surprise check at Cherlapalli Jail in Hyderabad. He observed that the criminals have been making the most of the jails in an off-putting manner.

According to the sources, the officials have seized Cell phones, Biryani Packets, Liquor Bottles from Bhanu Kiran, the accused in Suri’s murder case, and Yadagiri, the accused in the bail scam case. It is learnt that the criminals have been spending time for hours together with their family members. It is also learnt that the criminals have been supplied with Ganja during these times. Apart from this, the criminals have been involved in some sort of settlement related issues, added sources.
With this awkward incident, doubts arise on the trustworthiness of the jail officials. It is learnt that the superintendent of the jail Srinivas Rao will be retiring shortly from the service – and - allegedly with his cooperation only, such troublesome matters were going on, added sources.
