Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday demanded that the State administration act swiftly and provide immediate relief to all farmers and people affected by unseasonal rains and gales across the State.
In a letter to Governor ESL Narasimhan, Naidu said that the debt-ridden farmers were plunged further deep in crisis following extensive damage to their crops. It is estimated that the standing crops - paddy, chilli, maize and cotton – have been damaged in over 25,000 acres across the State. Among all, the farmers were the worst affected community in the nature’s fury, he said.
The TDP chief demanded Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those who died in the latest nature ravage, and construct houses for those who have lost their shelters in the recent rains.
