Hyderabad: Government Uploads ‘Local Status’ of Secretariat Staff

In a memo issued by Special Chief Secretary to government (FAC) SK Sinha here on Tuesday, all the departments were informed that a list was enclosed on the local status of employees working at the Secretariat. The employees were requested to verify the correctness of the local status. Out of 1,865 employees working at the Secretariat, 1,059 belong to Seemandhra and the remaining 806 are from Telangana.

SK Sinha said, “In case any employee finds his or her local status incorrect or if anyone has reasons to believe that local status of any employee is incorrectly given, they are free to send their representation to deputy secretary to the government (general administration) either in person or by e-mail. The representations will be received by 12 pm on Wednesday only.”

Strongly objecting to the uploading of local status of the employees, Telangana Secretariat Employee Union (TSEU) leader Narendar Rao alleged that most of the employees, who hail from Seemandhra, furnished false documents and converted themselves as local candidates after joining the services. Demanding the government to stop the process of division of employees until the credentials of the employees were verified, he warned that the Telangana employees would resume the agitation if all the Seemandhra employees were not sent to their native places before the Appointed Day, June 2.
