Hyderabad: Utter confusion prevails among the government employees as the division of employees is being made on provisional basis. It appears that about 4,000 employees from Telangana will have to work in the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat and about 5,000 employees from Andhra Pradesh in Telangana government. The State government is about to issue ‘order to serve’ to all employees to work in the State allotted to them till the Centre formulates guidelines to divide the employees.

The provisional list of employees will be released on after 9 pm on June 1. This was indicated to the employee representatives of various associations by Chief Secretary P K Mohanty on Friday. Mohanty, who will be retiring on Saturday, is learnt to have told the employees that he had no role whatsoever in the provisional allocation of the employees. Everything was done on the basis of guidelines announced by the Centre, he informed.

However, he assured them that even if there were any anomalies, the employees would have the opportunity to seek redressal from a high-level committee which would consist of the Chief Secretaries of the two States, Finance Secretaries and a retired Chief Secretary. The permanent division of the employees would be completed in three months, he said.

Mohanty urged the unions to cooperate with the two new governments and see that the kind of skirmishes that were witnessed on Friday morning in the Secretariat would not repeat. However, the employees feel that the provisional allocation of employees would cause many problems, feels Madhusudan Reddy, the vice- president of Telangana employees JAC. TNGO leaders Devi Prasad and Srinivas Goud assert that they would oppose the provisional division of employees.
