Hyderabad: KCR to Meet PM With Wish List

KCR is likely to go to Delhi on June 6 or 7. During his stay in Delhi, he will meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss the delicate financial position of Telangana and also the power problems that stare in its face as the Khariff operations would soon begin. The Telangana CM will also invite Modi to visit the new state to participate in the official celebrations of formation of Telangana which are likely to be held on a grand scale towards end of June. The date of the celebrations would be fixed after ascertaining the availability of the Prime Minister, sources said.

He would also meet key Union Ministers and officials of various departments and interact with them on the ongoing and upcoming projects in Telangana State. According to sources, his wish list includes granting national project status to Pranahita Chevella project. Meanwhile, Rao has asked his party MPs to effectively articulate the problems being faced by the new State in Parliament so that the centre will take note of the concerns of the state government. He told the MPs to extract a good financial package for the newly born state. He also wants them to highlight the problems to be faced by the tribal people, who live in the villages that have been transferred from Telangana to AP. Meanwhile, KCR will be holding a meeting with the state level bankers of Telangana in Hyderabad within a couple of days to discuss modalities with regard to farm loan waiver, which is the TRS main poll promise.
